Response to Wallace “This is Water”
Personally speaking, I like Wallace’s commencement speech “This is Water” a lot because it teaches us a lot. Wallace points out the fact that everyone is self-centered so that is the way we consider the belief, the facts, and the world. Therefore, it is difficult for a person to change other’s viewpoint because they have totally different experience, they form different belief that determine their attitude. I totally agree the author’s statement. In fact, we should not merely think about how to persuade others, how to let your audiences totally agree with your notion, or how to change others’ mind. Everyone is an independent individual that grow in different environment with different background and education. Therefore, exactly same idea is impossible. We should learn to accept different views and respect them. In addition, it is the different ideas that motivate the development of science and society.
I think the article is great and do not have any problem of it.

Wexner Center
My experience at the Wexner Center was wonderful. In fact, this was my second time visit the Wexner Center. I know nothing about Annie Leibovitz before I went so after the exhibition, I came to realize how famous she is because of the amazing photos. In the exhibit, I am very impressed by a photo named Hunter S Thompson and Jann Webber, taken in New York City in 1976. The woman sat on the right side of the photo held knife seemed like crazy. On the opposite of the woman, a man sat on the chair calmly just looking at her. Behind them, a chair was fired but none of them cared about it. The author blurred the background and only left one picture of devil, who wore mask and hat, starring at the man and woman. I thought devil is the theme of the photo because it was his magic that confused people.
In addition, I also went THE BOX and watched Mary Reid Kelley’s “The Syphilis of Sisyphus”. I came in the box in the middle of the show so I am not really caught the theme of the short movie. I thought the movie was a little weird. The author used strange characters and set to show the theme. Overall, I prefer Annie Leibovitz’s exhibit better because there are lots of awesome photos.

MP3
My iphone: My phone is one thing that I take with me everyday and everywhere. Since today is a so called information age, I could not live without my phone. It seems have been one part of my life because I have to use it to keep in touch with my friends, search the Internet and sometimes play games like Temple Run. (necessary)
My ipod: I take my ipod everyday because I love listening to music. When I feel depressed, classic music can calm me down; when I feel tired, some pop music can help me re-energize myself. (adjust emotion)
My ipad: Ipad is necessary for my study. I downloaded lots of e-Books in my ipad because it is a more convenient and lighter way to carry than hard books. Besides, I could also login Carmen and buckeyelink anytime at every place to check the study materials and important event. (convenient)
My Notebook: It is a notebook with calendar so I always use it as a combination of diary and reminder. I do not like to share my secrets and concerns with others so my notebook is a good place to pour out my heart. (secret)
My Cookies: Since the class starts so early and I am a sleepy girl, I seldom wake up on time so I never have time to eat breakfast. However, I have whole day courses on Tuesday and Thursday till 4 p.m. so I always take some cookies or cake with me as the breakfast. (late)
I love bright color and chic pictures so I choose yellow and white cubes as the background. As a person who loves modern technology, I really enjoy the changes they bring to my life. For example, without ipad, I have to take lots of hard books every day. Therefore, ipad is a more convenient and lighter way for a lazy person such as me. These five projects show some of my identity at some degree. Even though some people believe it is better to share your concerns and some bad news with friends, I still like to keep them on my own because I do not want to bother others and let them worry about me. However, on the other hand, the things I carry every day are just some materials I need to take with me for better study. I never carry one thing because it reflects my identity.
